GREENCASTLE — Jesse A. Burnside, 88, a horse trainer, died Saturday in Greencastle Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born Oct. 11, 1887, in Putnam County, he was a son of John J. and Grizzella Hazlett Burnside.
Surviving are a son, Warren of Chesterton; a daughter, Mary Brewington of San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Nina Bowlin of Danville and Mrs. Mary Stone of Rt. 5, Greencastle; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Portland Mills Christian Church with burial in Portland Mills Cemetery. Friends may call at Rector Funeral Home at Greencastle today.   ---waw

Mr. Jesse A. Burnside and Miss Fannie Faye Doyel were married at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Doyel, east of Browns Valley, on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. SK Fuson of Marshall officiating. They will live on the Wallace Jack farm, near the home of Mr. Burnside's father, John J. Burnside. Jesse says that he will have some more and better chickens next year than ever.   ---- kbz
